Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with twelve other kids. Her vivid imagination helped her escape from life's harsh reality. life. Before she learned to write or read, she had already composed her own music. Within 8 years she was playing her first guitar. At age 11 when she was 11, she began singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. That same year she made her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. The singer established a name for herself locally while still at high school, but wanted to perform on a larger stage. On the 14th of March, 1964, following her graduation from high-school her family moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967.
